Woofland's Story
In the heart of Woofland's origin lies the tale of a devoted couple, their beloved dog Hapu, and the pursuit of creating a haven for canine companionship. The journey began when the couple, eager for a holiday overseas, faced the challenge of finding suitable accommodation for Hapu. Traditional kennels and dog hotels, both luxury and standard, presented a common theme – dogs confined to cages or suites, devoid of meaningful human interaction for prolonged periods, often exceeding 10 hours.

Recognising the impact this could have on their affectionate and attached companion, the couple sought alternatives. Their quest led them to a home-based care system, a more flexible option with fewer commitments compared to a business. However, they observed that this lack of commitment in the home-based system was a drawback. It was this experience that unveiled a gap in the market, a need for a place where dogs could thrive in a loving and interactive environment, bridging the gap between traditional kennels and home-based care.
Fueled by their love for Hapu and a shared passion for providing dogs with a joyous and affectionate retreat, the couple decided to fill this void. And so, Woofland was born – a committed business with the heart of a home, offering a unique farm-based experience with 8 acres of land for dogs to roam freely. Dogs at Woofland are not confined to cages but embraced in a homelike environment, receiving the love, care, and commitment they truly deserve. The journey of Woofland, rooted in a desire to redefine dog care, continues to be inspired by the simple yet profound notion that every dog deserves a retreat where they can truly be dogs.

Meet the driving force behind Woofland – Orhan, affectionately known as Ryan in the Kiwi spirit. Our founder, equipped with a veterinary degree and boasting over five years of experience in New Zealand's animal health industry, is none other than Ryan. It's important to note that while Ryan holds a vet degree and is a highly knowledgeable and experienced professional, he is not a registered vet in NZ. His commitment to providing top-notch care stems from a genuine love for dogs and a desire to redefine the standard of dog care in Auckland.
Beyond the professional realm, Ryan is a true advocate for the joy, freedom, and tailored experiences every dog deserves. With a lifelong connection to dogs, Ryan's journey includes caring for a dog older than 20 years, currently residing with his mom overseas due to travel restrictions. Having grown up in lifestyle farms, Ryan brings more than 20 years of business experience to complement his extensive background in animal health.
